With easy access to I-395, the Killingly Commons Shopping Plaza, area Restaurants, Hiking/Biking Trails, Scenic Roadways, The Pomfret CT Audubon Society Center, Wyndham Land Trust Trails, Fishing, Kayaking & State Forests/Parks. Plus, downtown Putnam is a thriving hub of culinary establishments and cultural activities less than a 10-minute drive. UConn is 30 minutes away. Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun Casinos, Mystic, Hartford, Providence, RI and Sturbridge & Worcester, MA is approximately a 45-minute drive. Newport, RI and Boston, MA is a 1.5 hour drive, and NYC is 3 hours away. Pomfret is the perfect central location to get around and see it all, or to simply relax and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of nature enjoying the river on our property or strolling the many nearby trails. You will feel transported to another time without sacrificing convenience or comfort!
You will definitely need a vehicle. Public transportation is extremely limited, and cabs/uber service not prevalent.
Welcome to River's Edge Guest Suites, located in scenic Pomfret Connecticut, in the heart of Connecticut's Quiet Corner. We offer two fully-furnished & appointed apartment suites in our antique home. Each with a private king bedroom and a private entrance deck overlooking the beautiful Mashamoquet River just steps away! Enjoy the waterfalls, fire pit, and trails located on the property, plus nearby hiking, biking, kayaking, bird watching, fishing, dining, antiquing, vineyards, galleries, live entertainment & much more!
Nautical Suite 2
This spacious, private, nautically-inspired suite has over 700 square feet and has a newly-renovated kitchen with stainless appliances & granite countertops. There are no shared interior spaces. This suite has 1 King Bedroom and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. Plus, a coffee/tea station, microwave, toaster oven, pots/pans, & dishes/cups/utensils. Everything you could possibly need! The comfy living area has a 43" smart tv and soundbar, Boosted WIFI throughout, a sleeper sofa, and original arched antique windows. There is a laundry station in a nearby closet. The full bath is located off the kitchen. It has a large walk-in shower, makeup mirror, hairdryer, and a shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser. The front hall leads up the stately staircase to the dedicated office space with printer/scanner and office supplies. The King bedroom suite is also located on the second level and has a 32" smart tv, a fan, closet, extra pillows/blankets (all allergen-free), plus USB ports with extra outlets on both sides of the memory foam mattress. There are multiple shared outdoor spaces for you to relax and enjoy nature, including a fire pit/grilling area, trails leading to the river and throughout the property. We adhere to the highest standards in cleaning and sanitizing for your protection and safety, and we look forward to welcoming you into our home!
We will be available by phone or text during your stay. You will be provided with the Keypad Entry Code and our mobile phone number prior to arrival. There is also a guest book providing pertinent information and local dining, activities, and events, both in digital and hard-copy format. It is our desire to ensure your stay is pleasurable and memorable!
